  • Schism needs its own file format
  • MIDI file export should encode effects (and loading MID files should translate controllers)

[edit] Bugs to fix

  • MIDI port connections should be saved now- they're stable.
  • MIDI output latency should be saved with port connections.
  • The "auto" format should be consistent or missing. Sometimes when loading a file and saving as a different format, the old format is explicitly selected; this may cause unexpected results to the unobservant. (Possibly related? [1])

[edit] More key mappings (entirely tentative)

See also the mythical keyboard overhaul that would make it possible for an ordinary user to bind any key to any function, and possibly even bind keys to macros to execute multiple functions at once. (e.g., binding Ctrl-A to Alt-LL to select the whole pattern) This would also make possible a meta-FT2 edit mode, although I don't think a stateful pattern editor is a very good idea and would needlessly complicate the key binding engine.... KISS principle, hey.
